Holiday Ham Sandwiches – Appetizer Recipe

HHS hdr

Now that Halloween is over, we need to start thinking about the upcoming holidays, parties and of course… what will we bring to all of the get-togethers?!?

Over the next couple of weeks, I am going to share some of my “go-to” recipes that are super easy and always a hit!  Let’s get started with my Holiday Ham Sandwiches!

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 1 dozen King’s Hawaiian Sweet Rolls (this is important, these are absolutely the best rolls to make these sandwiches)
  • 1/2 lb sliced deli ham
  • Sliced White American cheese (you can also use Swiss or Provolone, but White American is my fav.)
  • 1 stick of butter (yes, one stick of butter… totally worth it)
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tbsp poppy seeds

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Split each roll and place it in a 9×13 pan.

Make a sandwich of the ham and cheese and the Hawaiian rolls.

In a small sauce pan combine butter, brown sugar, mustard, Worcestershire and poppy seeds.

Bring the sauce to a boil and pour over sandwiches.  (You can also prepare these the night before and refrigerate!)

Bake for 20-30 minutes, or until the tops are brown and crispy.

Serve these hot!  I promise, everyone at your party will want the recipe!
